Empty Vessel

My heart beats
My chest rises and falls with every breath
My footsteps make a sound
My eyes take in the world
But what you see isn't real,
Isn't the real me.
You see an empty vessel
It once held a soul
Is this vessel who you love?
Have you noticed that I am no longer here,
This empty vessel is not alive.
Whatever was inside, died a long time ago.
Have you noticed?
