Words Unsaid...
Or eyes meet across the room,
Silent words whisper in my ears---
Words left to be said,
Words left to be heard,
But too many people around us,
Too many walls between us
Left to be conquered.
I search your eyes for the truth,
Wanted to know it all were true,
I wanted you to hold me,
Tell me it would be alright;
That today was not the last day
And there are many things you wanted to say,
Tell me that you love me to death.
I saw you walking towards me,
You hold my hand and caress my cheek,
You kiss me softly on my lips
And tell me that you love me.
Suddenly there is no one in the room
But you and me
And I hug you to sleep.
I jerk my eyes open
Trying to find you beside me,
But the space next to me is empty
Filled with too many people.
I realize that it’s just a passing dream
That will never come true,
So silent tears trail down my cheeks.
Our eyes meet across the room,
So many words left to be said,
So many words left to be heard,
But maybe you and me,
We’re not meant to be,
So I let you go, say goodbye,
Whisper my unsaid words….
