Lying on my bed, staring at each other,

But that was in the past.
Things moved too fast
I can't take the speed

Maybe I write too often,

With my stories and poetry
But that's no reason, no excuse
The abuse,
However...

I admit, throwing you,
Kicking you,
Beating you senseless
To make you feel as I feel,
Broken, insulted
Defenseless
May have been
Too much

I've tried to make it work
Tried talking with you,
Tried working with you
To rekindle the flame,
To start anew

Occasionally it clicks,
Occasionally it works,
But these days,
You're more trouble than you're worth

Maybe we're just different
Now.
I'm not the same as I was when I met you,
And yet somehow,
You've grown too complex for me to understand
You are such a big part of my life, but I think..
It's time we both move on.

So as you give me the silent treatment,
As leave the room to set you free
Just remember, math homework;
