Your eyes
Have not seen a single sad sight
Your ears
Have never heard a cry of sorrow
Your hands
Have never stung in pain

And they never will

You could have been anything
We will never know
Your little hand fits perfectly in mine
And the only thing I am sure of
Is that you are a gift
You are loved
And someday, though I know not when
We will meet again

This poem is about a family whose child was stillborn. Stillbirths are so devastating to everyone involved, and I tried to depict some of the sadness the families experience and they hope they still hang onto.
