So the story goes
how terribly good and bad for each other we are
but all the wounds I get from you,
just leave the prettiest of scars.
and so the moon fell in love with the sun
or any other overused metaphor
‘cuz I cant think up an original one.
Why is it that every time I fall into you I leave a little of myself behind?
Soon I wont have any me left for myself
When you take it all for you
But I cant seem to care when you do
Because it would be a pleasure to be torn into pieces by you

They say no man is an island
But we both know that isn’t true
Everyone is trapped in their own head
With just two windows too look through.
And you can build bridges you will never cross
To places you can never know but from descriptions
That could all be lies and are almost always half-truths
But I’ll believe you
Because it would be a pleasure to be torn into pieces by you

And darling the world
is such a dangerous place with traps and demons in each shadow
an eternal battle for your soul to face
and I would throw myself in front of you to protect you every day
and bear the heaviest of burdens for every day you stay
because I’d love nothing more than to hurt so that you don’t have to
because it is such a pleasure to be torn into pieces by you
