Pushing Demons
I'm broken and lost
and crawling on the ground,
trying to find my way
through the dark.
Blurry shadows haunt my dreams.
I'll reach for you
only to push you away.
It's okay,
I'm not afraid.
I'm not afraid of the dark,
not anymore.
I push myself until I break.
Just do it.
You're nothing anyway.
The demons that whisper
in my ear
know my secrets
and they know my fears.
On my shoulder,
they wait,
stalking their prey.
My hands,
cracked and broken,
are wearing thin.
They became much too weak
to push the demons away.
