Listen
Just listen,
as I put my confused thoughts into words
that are strung into sentences
that don’t make sense.
Just listen,
as I try to describe these things called feelings
that bounce around my brain,
fall into my heart,
and are felt in my stomach.
Just listen,
as my eyes scream silent words
that my lips are too afraid to form
and my ears are too afraid to hear spoken aloud.
Just listen,
and try to see into the girl
that sings off key, reads for fun,
and can’t stop writing.
Just listen,
and hear every part of her being
screaming
“I want you.”
