Slowly Burning
A fire pit
Round or square or oblong.
It swallows wood that never returns.
Pieces of wood from healthy trees
Separated from its brothers.
The wood waits patiently doing nothing,
As the bark catches fire and slowly burns.
After a while of burning,
The white embers slowly fall to ashes
And the cycle happens all over again.
One’s life is just like this.
