A girl who has never known,
What it is to love,
Only dreams of,
Happily ever after,
And wants more than anything,
To feel safe,
Breaking down her walls,

Enter a boy,
One that doesn't open up,
Or trust anyone,
But seeks a girl,
That will make him forget,
The hurt and betrayal,
He has known all his life,

The girl notices the boy,
Is drawn to him,
And she quickly falls for him,
Even with the knowledge,
Of his past,
And one day,
She slips him a note;
A list of reasons why she likes him,
Which starts their relationship,
Only the girl didn't know,
That the boy had been in love,
With someone else,
He says she ripped his heart out,
And that she was,
In the past,
The girl should've known,
It was too good to be true,
But she was niave,
Stupid,
In love,
And she actually trusted him,
He was acting,
Pretending,
To be happy with her,
Even made her believe,
He loved her back,
But he didn't,
That was apparent,
Was he really that cold-hearted?
Or was he just keeping her out,
To protect her from getting hurt?
The girl had to end it,
Because the boy refused to,
And wouldn't tell her,
His true feelings,
So now,
She'll have to wonder.

I'll always have to wonder.

Thanks so much! :) Yeah I try to keep a positive mindset after I let it all out in my poetry. That's why most of my poems are pretty depressing. But yeah, I'm hopeful that this experience will just enable me to be better in my next relationship. Gotta keep looking on the brightside :P But thanks again!

I'm sorry, dear. But it all happened for a reason, even though that reason may not be clear right now. Hey, it just frees you up for Mr. Right to come gallavanting to you :D I had a bad experience with an ex, so I know what you're coming from, and the first few months are never pretty. Which always calls for ice cream ^_^ Anyways, if you ever need some support, let me know :D Anyways, the poem was amazing with all the emotions you displayed, great job! Have a good night!

Thanks for the feedback :) And as much as it hurts sometimes, I always feel as though love is worth it. There's somebody out there for everyone, you just have to sift through all the wrong people to find the right one :)

This is incredibly heart breaking...I love the way you structure your poem, as though it hurts to even say it
