Broken Smiles
I sit here and smile, you may think I am happy,
but inside, my heart is pitch black.
My heart is like a dark sky, unpredictable,
with cold winds, that seep into my bones and chill me,
but still I sit here and smile.
I sit here like I'm frozen in time, and mope, with no care at all.
My heart is like a mummy, wrapped up showing no emotions anymore.
I am wrapped up so perfectly, you have to come close,
to me to see my tears and my broken smile.
My smile is like chapped lips on a winter day,
far to bad to repair.
But inside my black heart,
is a small beacon of light, a small
piece of hope, that one day I won't wear broken smiles anymore.
