&ldquo;Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody&#039;s around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I&#039;m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they&#039;re running and they don&#039;t look where they&#039;re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That&#039;s all I do all day. I&#039;d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it&#039;s crazy, but that&#039;s the only thing I&#039;d really like to be.&rdquo; <br /> ― J.D. Salinger, The Catcher in the Rye

Days like this...
when the air is too dry
the AC is not powerful enough
to erase that heat from your brain.
When every particle of you
is tiptoeing around the 600sp feet room
aching...for fresh, comforting air from the ocean.
You breath in the intoxicated boredom
of the house...
in a hot summer day.
The clock strikes one pm
and somewhere in the neighborhood
a baby cries.
Grandpa must have waken up, but I didn't care.
A lost breeze enters the window
And for a moment,
I wish I was an incarnation
Of the God wind.
Travel across wide rivers
And topped the summit of mountains.
Or to come gently through an open door, and caress a worry traveler.
but since I am me,...
I just pick up the pen,
and write this free verse poem
about a hot summer day
in which
I was bored!
