My Mom

My mom used to say that when i was little she used to lock me in my room to make me more creative,
She said it was good for me.
But even now, as i am 15, she still doesn't smile,
And her voice raises to match the storm in her eyes.
Her sighs cause a hurricane of disappointment in the room.
Maybe im not what she truly wanted,
but im here
And i wish she would at least pretend
