The voracious ambition of humans is never sated by dreams coming true, because of the thought that everything may be done better and again. --John Green, The Fault in Our Stars.

Up, up, up we go,
Together, we two, no more.
The clouds our only company
On our quest to unlock the door.

The sparkling key to eternity
Is the only one that fits.
The light becoming clearer
In bigger and brighter bits.

Up, up, up we go,
Together, we two will soar
And search for the hidden treasure
Found only on Eternity's Shore.

In our little rocket ship,
We continue to climb
Closer to the heavens
And farther away from time.

Up, up, up we go,
Together, we two escape
Into the bliss that is the open air,
Our mistakes below-our cape.

The silence of our ever-spinning world
Is such a mystery.
Our struggles left so far behind;
The two of us now finally free.

Up, up, up we go,
Together, we two will stay
Side by side for eternity
Until a brighter day.

I was inspired to write this while I was flying in a plane. Not really sure exactly what I was getting at... I guess that's for you to decide.

The more control you have over yourself, the less control others have over you.

Hey hey hey! I really enjoy the title, I think it's really pretty! I enjoyed the repetition and the rhyme count was also nicely done! This poem felt completely authentic and it was very original. I like the bit of awkwardness in the beginning, where these two people are together, but they aren't. And whatever it is these people do, the narrarator is looking around and the things she/he sees and thinks about leads to these two people again being together. I loved the line 'The silence of our ever-spinning world...' because I always think that sometimes silence can guide people's minds.. and I think that was the case here as well. Great job with this poem.. it is beautifully written.
