Rainy Night
I stare at the rain
as it falls on the rooftops;
resting my elbows on the windowsill
as the drops of water strike the pane and then run down until it drips off the sill
continuing its descent to the ground far below.
My breath, so close, steams up the window, and I pull back and watch as it slowly disappears, like a secret never told.
I step away from the window
and with one last look back, I return to my warm blanket for another Seattle night.
