Screams of Heroin
Are we made from ashes
Do we scream of hope
Does angst hit our veins
And drive us home
You and I so much alike
Striking in vision
Hinting at clarity
A mind all the same
Two halves
To a whole
The only thing
I can figure
That differentiates
Is your lack for life
Your glass isn’t even
Half full
It teeter totters
Contents sloshing
All over the place
Your hands shaky
Can’t even clean up
The mess
Can’t even clear
The shards
The picturesque glass
Glinting beneath sunlight
Of your broken past.
