Illumination
The cool grass
beneath my feet,
soft and lush,
cushions my every step.
Walking further along into my backyard,
the moon, a massive orb, shines down,
casting a faint, pale glow across my face.
It is here, outside,
that I see the peace and stillness of the ever shifting world.
In this moment, the air chills.
A breeze tickles my arms and legs.
The gentle wind swirls around my bare feet.
My shorts shift slightly and the bottom of my shirt billows in the wind.
The usually pesky chirp of crickets,
sounds like a band of violinists,
bringing a sense of serenity.
In this moment,
I myself,
have become a moon,
encompassed in light,
forever shining.
