"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end" - John Lennon (?)

What am I?
Flesh, blood, and bone?

Who am I?
Heart, mind, and soul?

I think, and so (supposedly) I am
But do I, in my thinking, know?
I leave my footprints on the land
When I'm gone, will anyone know?

We laugh, we weep, we murder, and we die;
We're laughed at, wept for, we're murdered and we die.

How many have I killed today?
How do I pass by, look away?
Life is fleeting, gone in a flash
Can’t I enjoy it while it lasts?

Maybe what matters most in life
Is what comes in between.
The things we do, the things we write,
And all we've heard and seen.

We come into this world alone, and lonely we depart;
But who we walk the journey with, that's what sets us apart

"Live a life with no regrets-"
Forget about that, I'm human.
"Look straight forward, never back-"
And get back-stabbed, yeah, great plan.

Maybe what matters most is joy,
Or feeling happy all the time.
If so, what better choice than love?
What better, for a blind man, aye!

Love just cannot satisfy; you'll always want for more;
Once you've picked yourself back up, you'll fall down as before.

They say love's blind. Come on, get real!
Show me a man dead to desire.
Desire isn't just for looks;
For character, and love's sweet fire.

"If love is blind, then love must miss the mark"
Missing brings pain, doubt, fear, sorrow, regret.
But what if I don’t mind a little pain?
And what if I deserve it?
Who doesn't?

To dream, that's all? Impossible, no deal!
I can’t go on kidding myself each day.
"Forget these dreams; they cause the pain you feel."
But dream I will,
no matter what they say.

“I do not mind the pain so much,”
At least that's what I say.
But inwardly I'm crying out,
And begging you to stay.

I have no judgment sense;
I'm blind to all I see.
I scream out my question,
Voicing eternity.

The question all creation
Asks with its every breath:
“Oh, who will deliver me
From this body of death?”

I want what's good, I choose the bad.
Sickening cycle, drives me mad!
I'm dizzy from the ups and downs,
I can no longer stand my ground!

Legs giving out, I start to fall.
My arms jerk towards my chest.
My knees hit ground, my hands are clapped.
I hate this corpse of death!

When everything becomes as black as night
Remember what you learned while in the light

Oh God, I pray, I am but dust
Chaff, floating astray
But it's in you I've put my trust
So that I can say

You have my heart, you hold my hand
No matter what the weather.
You're there with me, you’re by my side
Holding me together

When I fall down, you pick me up,
Setting me on my feet.
I fall again, again you stoop,
No matter my defeat.

What am I?
A fallen creature, striving for perfection.

Who am I?
A son of God, the Perfect King of Heaven.

The king of my flesh, blood, and bone, of my heart, mind, and soul.

I am Yours,
Save Me!
