The Night
The night crept closer.
I could feel the moon’s haunting stare stab my soul.
The night crept closer.
The shining stars shone brighter than before,
As they filled the black abyss we call the night sky.
Dogs are barking, and wolves are howling.
And the night crept closer.
One by one I watch streetlights illuminate.
I rush to the beach to catch one last glimpse
Before the smiling sun sets into the sea.
The night crept closer.
Leaving the viscous moon to rule all.
I Have faith,
The sun will rise again.
Bringing hope and happiness,
But for now
The night creeps closer.
