Devotion towards the Melody

It moves me
More than any force
That moves the planets
Around this elliptical galaxy
Or is less strong
Than the creation of the tides
Between the romance
Of the barren and flourished.
Haven’t you felt this before?
A first love;
That moment when you take
Your shoes off after a tiring afternoon
Or when you’ve engulfed
Your favorite meal and let it settle
Deep in the pits of your gut.
That satisfactory sensation;
That undying attraction.
Haven’t you felt this before?
It fills all the open orifices,
Moving body and mind.
It moves me more than anything.
It has taken over
Like that of a parasite
But in this relationship,
It is symbiotic.
One could say that I’ve fallen in love,
In love with an inanimate
But many feel the same
The same as I do.
It moves everything,
My mind follows
Filling my head with emotions:
Bliss,
Rage,
Exhilaration,
Despondency.
It allows me to escape,
Escape into a world apart from the average.
I can find my niche.
It allows me to feel like I’m my own
And discover those as different or sane as I.
It may be considered weird for some
To listen to one
And others to listen to another
But I have fallen in love
With a collision of notes
To form a melody,
To form a bridge,
To form a chorus,
To form a hypnosis,
That allows me to transport out,
Out of this galaxy
And into my own.
Haven’t you felt this before?
