"Why fit in when you were born to stand out."-Dr. Seuss

Girls take pills to make them thin
They starve themselves until you can see through their skin
Unless you have the perfect hair
Apparently none of the boys will ever care
Unless you are the perfect weight
You won’t be able to get a single date
There’s cliques in high school, they suck out the fun
If you see the “Plastics” you better run.

Don’t get in their way, and in return
They’ll spare you some shame and an emotional burn
They walk down the halls, as their heels go click clack,
Keep walking with your head held low, and don’t look back
They scare the nerds, they make the jocks drool, the pot smokers whistle because they think they are cool.
The fat girls sit in the corner and cry, they eat their feelings until they die.

The jocks run around in tight little pants, showing their feelings, putting girls in a trance.
Than there’s the girls who scare everyone, they’re 5 time seniors and from the law on the run.
So high school sucks and that’s all I will say,
Maybe ill write more another day.

I wrote this for an English assignment after reading the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I was inspired by the "mean girls" at my school and because it is almost the end of the year, i thought i should share my opinion on the "Plastics."
