Dangerous
What is dangerous?
A speeding car with a careless driver?
A rotting tree limb hanging ominously over a child’s head.
The wake of a curved dorsal fin which approaches to the tune of some threatening half steps.
An oven mit gently resting over the side of a burning stove top.
The black car containing a folded American flag approaching the old couple with the sign in their
yard saying “We support the army.”
The little girl with the magazine covers posted on her mirror, telling her “15 Ways to Get Thin
Quick!”
The deceptive smile someone makes when asked the question “Are you okay?”
The look two people give each other when there is so much that needs to be said that just can’t
be said.
The world is a dangerous place.
