The Man Who Made Fire
Sing in me, Muse, and through me tell the story of the man who made fire.
The man urged on by a fearless curiosity
one that was only to be quenched by flame.
He, one brave night, followed by his fearless companion,
wandered into his garage with nothing more than a harmless partener,
and an urge to turn a spray on deodorant into fire.
At first it was nothing but what was thought to be a wishful dream,
but as the two spraypainted a wooden box blue and red, the man’s companion read the back of the rattle can.
It was written in bold as if it was meant be seen.
There it was,
“Extremely Flamable”.
The man quickly sprinted to grab a lighter.
His legs burned like the fire that was soon to be, but he just ran faster.
With no hesitation the lighter, just recently found, was lit,
and the burly man braced for impact.
The paint flew out of the can with unatural speed,
and hit the flame.
“Whoosh!”
