Tug Of Love
It was a fair game when we first started out
Our hands were gripped tightly on the love we had
But as months went by, we steadily lost our grip
So I thought our love was coming to an end
I couldn’t let go when that meant losing you
I pulled harder- I wasn’t going to let you slip away
You saw the passion in me, to bring to pull you closer
We began to pull the rope evenly
Everything became steady between you and me
But as months turned into years,
Your heart wasn’t in the game anymore
You just stood still, but you were strong enough not to move
You left all the pulling up to me,
It left you control of the whole game
You only pulled at your convenience
A convenient love is not what I’m fighting for
I drop this game of strife and confusion
I’m ready to move on to a more fair game
