I Once had
I once had owners to race
I had birds to chase
I had balls to fetch
I had Frisbees to catch
The Toys I chewed
The Trouble I’d brewed
The barking I blast
The tail I’d cast
Now I sit
Watching the ball hit mitt
The birds that swarm
And I, too worn
I cannot chase
I have no haste
My teeth too sore
I can chew no more
The barking I’d blast
I left in the past
My tail wags no more
I sit and wait outside Death’s door
