When a Mother Loses a Child
She’s gone; she’s really gone and never coming back.
What did I do to deserve this despair?
I pray and pray for my dismay
To be taken away from a God who saves.
Why didn’t He save her?
I’m still hurting, I’m still suffering;
Can’t you see? Won’t you ask me how I am?
Have you moved on,
Why don’t you feel the same pain as I,
Why has your heart healed and mine lies in the depths of Hell?
How dare you move on so soon.
How dare you smile and laugh.
How can happiness survive here
When the world is so dark and cold without her?
I never get to hear her laugh again
And you boast as if your happiness will heal me.
I need to mourn her.
If I don’t remember that awful September day
Where my most cherished family member was set to lay
Six feet into the ground, then who will?
I mourn her so that everyone may remember.
