The night calls to be free
Yet only lights the concrete
It may just walk on its way.

Looking for some insight
Searching comes the dark night
Will it succeed-I think it may.

In-comes the lit horizon
The night can leave so fast.

The proximity can stay low-
Look-see the night shine, then see it go!

Taking a wick-
On it’s feet night can sure be quick-

The night takes up space…
It can take it while it still is young,

No time left to pace-
It seems like something I must go follow!

Have to take it while it’s still there!

Sitting and sighing on my bench-
I have seen the night both come and go.

In comes the lit horizon
Night is fast-that’s what I would say,

Still chasing to be blind,
Tearing to push the light away.

I’ll just be on my way,

Will it ever end-
Unfortunately,

I think it may.

The author's comments:
I typically am not inspired by what's around me, I just normally think and type/write. But for this poem, I was looking outside one morning, and It was almost time for me to leave for school, and I saw that the sky still seemed to be dark-thus my poem.
