MILO’s New Home




Riding back from Julian one fall day
We stopped at a dog breeder along the way
This was something I’ve always longed for
Couldn’t believe today could be the day

We drove and drove it seemed hours had past
When suddenly we arrived at the breeder’s home at last
I got out of the car with excitement all around
Could this be my new puppy we found?

“Come in” said the breeder and so we did
She led us to the garage where the puppies hid
We had our choice from one, two or three
All male golden retrievers I did see
I knew right away which one I wanted to bring home
So come with me Milo, I want you to be my own

Off we go with our new puppy in hand
He was scared and nervous with cries that made me sad
But when we finally drove away, it was easy to see
Milo and his new family were happy as can be
