A rarity
I’ve always wanted to be exotic.
Be the one who was different, with some
 eye-catching individuality
 that snags
 and tugs on your gut
and eats you from the inside
 like a parasite.
I yearn to be a rarity.
 To grab hold of
 your heart and soul.
Be the twinkle in your stars for just
 a moment.
 To make you need
 to be with me.
 Subconsciously yank on a string
 in your lungs
 and stop your
 breath just from
 a glance.
 A deadly infection that
 does not allow escape from
 thoughts of me.
 I hunger for a
 beautiful asymmetry.
 A distinction that captures
 the spirit and holds hostage
the very essence of your unsuspecting
 body.
I long for an embodiment that
 personifies the beauty
 within.
Draws the soul to a love unlike any other.
I always wanted to be exotic.
