Cut Down
Shearing my stems will lessen my bloom.
My foliage used to conceal my imperfect blossoms.
My young buds have yet to flourish.
Now I’m in a raw state of nature.
A tree without leaves.
I am naked and stripped of my splendor.
Why must my looks be altered by Mother Nature?
I am a beauty all my own.
Maybe this trim was vital.
An Epiphany to show,
That pruning allows my inner magnificence to grow.
