Closed Eyes
I close my eyes
And soak in the sounds
Of people all around
Happy, talking to their friends
Laughing about this or that
It doesn't matter.
Because I don't feel the way they do.
I'm not happy.
Behind my closed eyes
Tears bubble up inside
I can hear them
Talkin bout everything
They don't notice me
I can't even pretend they care.
I feel like I'm lost
Just wonderin around
In desolate fields of snow.
I just want someone to hear me
Someone to laugh at what I'd say.
But there's no one here
In my lonely world.
It's just me
The bell rings
And I open my eyes
To the world I didn't want to see.
It's just me.
