The white wall was
Red.
In the sense that no one
Would touch it, no one
Would go near it.
Red.
The one boy who
Dared to be daring,
Who touched the wall
Was swallowed whole
And vanished.
Red.
All that was left were
His white socks sleeping
On the marble floor.
Red.

This poem was based off of Russel Edson's poems which always start with a bizarre premise. They blend the weird with the everyday details.
