under that soft pink sky
time stood still

the white capped mountains
looming in the distance
the sun dipping behind them
shooting shadows across
the wildflower field

his large hand clasped in mine
his face turned
towards me

that perfect moment
frozen in my mind

his lips upturned
in a delicate smile
warm brown eyes
the color of pecan shells
lit up at the amazement
on my face

i reached up to touch
his stubbled cheek

and time began again
