Lucky
Sometimes I feel as if I’m not good enough
Feeling like I need to be better than everyone
Be the person who has the best clothes
Be the one who has the best phone
Be the girl who has the best friends that everyone’s jealous of
Be the one who has the best room
And lives in the best house
But then I say to myself
That person doesn’t exist
That person will never exist
I can’t be that person
I am a very lucky girl
I live in a good house in a great neighborhood
I have good clothes and I own a phone
And I have a good room
I am lucky
There are people out there jealous of me
Who have nothing
No shelter, food or heat
They need help
I am the fortunate one
Who needs to give back
To those with nothing
Who don’t know where their next meal is coming from
No one needs to help me
I need to help others
I am the lucky one
The lucky one who gets the chance to help the less fortunate
I am lucky
