I'm waiting.
Sleeping.
In slumber.
Sleeping.
Awake.
But sleeping.
I've been in this hospital bed
For five years.
They think I'm sleeping.
I am not.
I am moving.
I am seeing.
I am feeling.
They don't see me.
They can't feel me.
I am nothing.
But I am someone.
And I am waking up.

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem about a book called If I Stay, which is about a girl in a coma. It's really fun to write about mysterious topics like this. No one knows exactly what happens to the mind after one goes into a coma, which opens a door to imagination.
