Hinged at the Hip
As I watch the people
laughing with glee,
I reminisce on the good old days,
away from the city’s stink.
Laughing with glee,
I spent the days with my family
and my animal friends.
We were hidden far in the Oaks,
in a place where we thought
no one would approach us.
One night, I woke up in terror.
The sound of murder had arrived.
My worst fear, the chainsaws.
I shook in fear as the small men
attacked me with their shiny demon.
My green hair began to shed,
as I felt a piercing pain carve
its way through my stomach.
I screamed in pain and begged for them to stop.
They seemed to be enjoying themselves
as they amputated parts of my body.
First my legs, then my arms and my hair.
I fell to the ground with a boom.
I must have fell into a coma,
I don’t remember how I got here.
I don’t remember how I became so limber.
I don’t remember when a metal ball
was implanted into my side.
Now here I am,
hinged in by the hip.
People push and pull me
with their dirty hands.
I want to go home.
