If We Could Go Back
I don’t want to go back.
Not right now, or for the reasons you might think.
I was happy with my childhood,
I don’t need a repeat.
What I want to know is if I did it right.
Did I do everything I was supposed to do?
Could I have done it better?
Would I be a happier or better person?
I just want to know.
I know time travel is impossible,
But if I messed up,
shouldn’t there be a way to go back and fix it?
I’m not too old, we wouldn’t need to go back very far.
Just far enough,
So I can tell myself,
To have more fun
To not hold back
To stop dreaming I’m incredible,
And start believing I already am.
