Wise words of wisdom
Wise words of wisdom,
Why do they always flow
from lips of those whom so many know?
Dr. Seuss, Marylyn Monroe, Teddy Roosevelt and more
so old and revered, they’re words could become folk lore
While feeling so smart inside of my head,
I realize my thoughts have been spoken by someone dead.
Does age bring wise words?
Or education, do tell!
Because I can never get these words out of my mind, constantly ringing like a bell.
Words to live for will never exit my mouth,
but perhaps somehow, someway, I could get the fragments to come out.
Pieces of wisdom, each emerging on their own
so that at the end of the day, I can hand them out; wisdom to loan.
So one day quite possibly, I could be as wise as those,
who have taught to “jump in life, rather than simply tiptoe.”
