Good Evening,
I Will Be Your Bleeding Heart Optometrist This Evening,
Why won't anyone see how incredible it is that we even exist,
How unbelievable it is that the sun has not engulfed us,
That some asteroid or meteor or some other or or maybe an and that should've killed us but a but could kill us too,
But wait, look around us,
We're all still alive, but how?
Isn't it insane? I am freaking out right now. I'm alive.
I. AM. ALIVE.
We need to tell everyone, show this story to every newspaper and e-newspaper and webcast and podcast and blogspot and facebook and twitter and tumblr that we are alive. Or else we might tumble into thoughtlessness.
We see it everyday but we don't,
We’re blind,
We think they see with our mind’s eye,
But our mind will stay blind unless we open the eyes we were born with,
And they won't open until we hit them hard in the face with the crowbar of reality,
Because in actuality,
The duality of real life and philosophy is nothing but a line we tacked on the wall to cover up the blurring grey sensuality in between this black and white causality has turned us into a casualty
And we can tear it down, we just need to pull down the blinds, rip off the blinders, open up the binders, show her what's inside her that's outside her,
And him what's inside him and all around him and we're abounding for a better place.
And me what’s inside me that’s outside me that’s all around me, surrounds me, tries so hard to pound into me this simple, simple thought.
I am breathing.
But why doesn't anyone see how incredible this is. That we exist? That we’re breathing? That we’re seeing, hearing, feeling anything at all? That we’re not just senseless nothing in a void of nothing with no friends, no family, no home, no worth, no jobs, no goal, nothing? Nothing!? NOTHING!?
I can tell you exactly why.
I blame the hours from 9 to 5 that we turn our heads off and get our work on,
I blame the years that we sit upon our comfy chairs every other minute of every other day where we just can't be bothered by "thinking" cause it hurts too much.
What's hurting me too much is that no one is hurting enough, no one is feeling a damn thing and that's a damn shame and I'll be damned if I let it keep happening to my race. My. Human. Race.
Despite everything that happens to us. Everything we do to each other. Everything we have done to this planet. I am proud of us.
No, let me rephrase that. I am proud of what we could be.
I am proud of what we are capable of.
Because we are capable of much more. So. Much. More.
Than this.
We could all live together if we open our eyes.
We could all love each other if we open our eyes.
We could bring happiness and joy and love to every living thing. Hell, we could love our pet rocks too, if we just open our eyes.
We could if we open our eyes.
We could do all of it if we open our eyes.
So. Let’s. Open them.
