Roses
Roses;
You know roses are always nice,
they represent Valentine's Day,
love,
affection,
the things that make you happy.
They are awfully pretty,
especially from a hand of your crush.
The red petals that touch your nose when you want to smell them
Such a strong distinct aroma
Receiving them out of the blue
is always nice.
You put them in your best glass vase at home
with water and hope you wish they would last.
Each day one petal gently falls from each rose
They are shedding the petals one by one.
The boy who seemed to bring you flowers
seemed so nice and warm to be around with.
Dates at state park biking around and laughing,
the trees singing with the wind.
It was nice for the time being.
Now just like the roses, the boy seems to lose a part of himself too.
You see the real him; not answering the phone, not wanting to hangout
yelling, screaming, fighting, disagreements.
Your relationship is disappearing like the roses petals.
The roses in your living room remind you of him.
The relationship represents the flower petals
losing their meaning and matter every day.
One day all the petals fall to the ground
and today you know you have to let go of this boyfriend
for once and for all.
Relationships and roses never last forever.
