Building Trust from a Gaze
Building Trust from a Gaze
When you look at me,
You don’t see me.
You only think you do.
At the first look,
You judge.
You don’t mean to,
It just happens.
I do the same.
It’s not solely you,
I am not innocent.
You don’t know my story,
I don’t know yours.
Tell me yours.
Maybe I’ll tell you mine,
If you’re lucky.
If you want to hear mine,
You must earn my trust.
My trust,
Is not something I shell out willingly.
Trust is like a mirror. It can be broken, cracked,
Shattered even.
That mirror is hard to repair,
And that’s if you can find all of the pieces.
If, in fact, you do find the pieces,
The image will forever be distorted.
My trust has been shattered many a time.
It is no longer complete.
Some of the glass has splintered,
Never to be found again.
Unless...
You can find them.
Or refill the cracks.
Give me a reason to trust you.
Trust is attachment,
For one to manifest,
The other must also be.
