This is Not a Call Back
Baby blue eyes,
Are parts of a disguise.
Porcelain skin,
Is gentler than what lies within.
A voice like twinkling charms,
Beckons you into their arms.
Nothing seems to be flawed;
It’s all part of a façade.
When you look deep inside,
Where the secrets truly hide,
You’ll find where the beauty will stop.
Although, life isn’t a photo-op
Life isn’t a masquerade,
And in time your looks will fade.
The people that you meet,
Will become litter on the street.
Some may get by,
With a smile or a ‘hi’.
But if you truly want people to stay;
Let your mask fall away.
