Favorite Quote:
"Some infinities are bigger than other infinities."-John Green (The fault in our stars)

When I was little our laughs were everything and our tears were nothing,
There was adventure in every step,
I was easily deceived and always believed,
Yet somehow I knew almost everything

My heart was whole and pure,
My mind never dreamed of a lie,
But as I grew older my open mind closed,
My brown eyes darkened along with my pure soul

When I was little I was a bird in a cage that protected me from the harsh world,
But eventually my innocence had to fade,
I was released from the cage which seemed so exciting,
I can never regain what I carelessly wished away

Like everyone I sit in a world full of sin,
With eyes always on us our insecurity haunts us,
Our lies come naturally and hearts are no longer pure,
I never imagined such a world when I was little

The author's comments:
When we are young we wish away our youth and our innocence and that is what this poem is about. The world is full of bad (As well as good) and we never realize it as kids. Once we let go of our innocence we can never it it back, it's a flaw in children like myself.
