Overcoming Fear
I drove off the gas station parking lot
With an drink in my lap
Driving down Southland Road
To find a sleepy driver diagonal to me
I could tell he thought he was cool
With his big truck painted with flames
He had chrome rims
Surrounded by monster tires
Suddenly, he drifted to the right
And went off the road to hit a pole
The back side side of the car took the blow
So now he really had something to show
I felt a chill in my spine
And it was the weirdest of its kind
Me being a new driver
Seeing this tragedy
Frightened me to death
I soon got over it
Soon being ten minutes
I turned onto on a big road
Leading to the mall
Just to see another car
In front of me go
Boom! clank! boom!
Suddenly smoke arose
Again the fear came back
Another chill went down my spine
This time my body felt hot
And I was scared out of my mind.
But this feeling left me within five minutes this time.
