America’s Pastime
The dirt on the field,
The fans in the stands,
The beautiful stadium
And thrill of opening day
Paint a vivid picture as to why
This game is America’s beloved pastime.
It’s a spectacle for father and son
But beloved by everyone
You can love this game
But it will not always love you back.
In a game where size does not matter
Where the pitcher stands 90 feet from the batter
It is one against nine in battle won only in the mind.
