I knew this day would come, but it's sooner that I hoped for
Like the night's dark waves at the Plutonian shore
Fear, sadness and pure despair grew large in my heart
At the thought of thinking we would one day soon part
The lords rage of unjust will, seeping through the sorrow
Yet not knowing I was one to originally borrow
The vast path of revenge and pity on thy soul of righteousness
To the peaceful yet darkening of the wisdom and liveliness
Of one who is not yet ready for the regretful event
As a song bird unwittingly climbing out of its nest
Only to find the treacherous laws of an inhuman society
Filled with lies, despair, evil and pain in all variety
This day would be like no other
Unlike the blood of thy sister or thy brother
Unrecognizable, awkward as some may say
As weird and innocent but a loving decay
For who lies now maybe below or above
It is a decay of happiness and love
Loss of insight and wisdom that we all have to claim
Loss of the love known as Lorraine

This is a poem I wrote for my Grandmother who is very sick with cancer. I hope that it sends a message to appreciate those you love before they are gone.
