Off to Heaven
It was an uncommonly normal day
Just like I had lived every day before
If you had ask me if that day was different
I would have said “NO WAY”
How could I not know
How could I not see my life would never be the same?
My parents knew that she had died
But they never let it show.
They knew how much I loved her
They knew how much I cared
They knew my heart would break
Because she was no longer there.
She died alone on that typically normal day
No one there to hold her hand
If I would have known
I would have stopped to pray
Had I even guessed she would be leaving me
I would have called her one last time
So she would know I loved her
It is bitter sweet but now she is free
Free from all the pain
You are an angel in heaven
Look down on us and keep us safe
Your memory will always remain.
