An American citizen is an American Citizen
So they must all be deserving of rights?
But if that American Citizen is a different American Citizen
We are going to make them fight

Just because they are unlike us
Those rights to equality are stripped away
No, I’m not taking about the 1960’s Civil Rights movement
I’m talking about discrimination towards those who are gay

One nation under God?
With liberty and justice for all?
This is what we are expected to pledge everyday
But the fault in that phrase is not small

Who are we to say what love is and isn’t?
Who are we to deny someone the right to marry?
Who are we to reject the rights of American Citizens?
Who are we to make this our burden to carry?

We are American Citizens
And because of that we can make a change
Not just make marriage between men and woman
No, we need to create a wider range.
