The bell has rung
Kids shout and run about
Going here and there
Just running everywhere
Some on the swings
Some on the slide

Energized and ready to play
They could play kickball all day
Swinging from the monkey bars
Running from each other playing tag
Who needs swag
Their just kids running everywhere

Falling every now and then
Crying for a second
Then getting back up again
Taunting each other from way up high
Whether or not its hot or cold
Recess never gets old

A time when girls still had cooties
Spreading rumors and having fun
Recess was a time for everyone
Screaming and shouting running about
Too bad time is running out
The bell has rung we all scream and pout

Its time to go inside
No more time to hide
Recess is over its time to go
No more fun and play for the day
But now its story time
