I Am Heart
When I’m heard in the womb, my life begins inside
I beat, I move, I race, I am a rollercoaster ride
When overconfidence strikes me, I’m filled to the gully with pride
I am the drive behind the home run, the cause of a win or loose
I can be burning fire or ice cold, with every breath I choose
I sing, I dance, I laugh, I entertain, I amuse
Four equal chambers I do have, but each resemble me
I am the song behind my voice, I choose my own destiny
Though not a brain I do think, contemplating differently
I’m a part of every life, I’m found deep within
I converse with good and evil and try avoiding sin
As long as I beat, I’m guaranteed a win
Without me no function, without me no soul
Without me no happiness, no sadness ever known
Without me a garden with flowers that wouldn’t grow
I am an instrument, different rhythm found in all
I am certain beauty that cushions each ghastly fall
My life ends happily with the Father’s peaceful call
