Falls gem
The cool fall days scrambling around the orchard
As the first apple drops you know it’s time
You know it’s time for fall
The fresh taste of apple cider by the willows creak
The sweet smell of the willow leaves bathing in the afternoon sun
As the sun sets west of the trees your ready
You’re ready to endorse the taste of the fresh apple jelly smothered on a piece of fresh bread
The sugary taste of the first bite
The fresh warmth of the swirl bread beaded with jam
The wonderful crisp crunch of a fresh apple cobbler
You know it’s time when the last apple is picked
Time to wait another year to endure the apple orchards blazed with apples
You know it’s time for the countryside to subside
